About the Novesta x Noel Gallagher Lone Star Chukka

What the collaboration is

Novesta is a Slovak footwear company that has been making rubber-soled shoes since the 1930s, still using traditional machinery and hand finishing. In July 2025 it released the Lone Star Chukka with Noel Gallagher, in support of Teenage Cancer Trust. It launched in six suede colourways across EU sizes 36 to 47, and Novesta committed to donating a minimum of 15% of the net sale price of every pair to the charity.

Where the name comes from

Lone Star is the name of Gallagher's own recording studio. The blackstar sitting on the tongue, alongside the Novesta logo, is a reference to his single "Black Star Dancing". His signature is embossed on the removable insole, so it shows when you take the footbed out rather than being stamped across the shoe. Beyond those two details there's no other branding — it reads as a plain suede chukka.

How it wears

Suede upper, natural rubber outsole, cotton lining and cotton laces. The chukka shape sits between a trainer and a boot: higher than the Star Master but far lighter than a work boot, which makes it easier to wear through autumn and spring than a heavy leather boot. Suede takes to a protector spray well and it's worth applying one before the first wear.
