What ends up in the Gramicci sale

Everything reduced here comes out of the main Gramicci range rather than a separate clearance make. Stock moves across at the end of a season, or when a colour has run down to partial sizes. The mix therefore rotates: outerwear, fleece and knitwear come through after winter, shirts and shorts after summer, and trousers and sweatshirts turn up at both ends because they sell across the year. Sizes thin from the middle of the run outwards, since mediums and larges go first and the ends of the run last longest.

Where the reduction is worth most

The percentages look similar across the page but the money does not. Gramicci's outerwear sits at the top of the range — waxed and coated shells, sherpa and stormfleece, the heavier flap-front jackets — and a quarter off one of those is worth several times a quarter off a tee. Knitwear and the sherpa pieces sit in the same bracket. The other thing worth watching is what does not come back: the core cuts return every season, but collaborations and one-off prints are made once, so a reduction on an And Wander jacket or a printed tee is the last time that piece will be available at any price.

Sizing in the Gramicci sale

On the trousers and shorts the built-in webbing belt does a lot of work — there is no fixed buckle position, and the waist is elasticated as well as belted on most cuts, so falling between sizes matters less than it would otherwise. Leg length is the fixed dimension, so that is the one to check. On the shirts and outerwear the question is what you intend to wear underneath: some of the shirts are cut loose enough to go over a sweatshirt rather than under one, and the jackets are generally layering pieces rather than close-fitting. They are end-of-season stock from the main range, or colours that have run down to partial sizes. Nothing here is made specifically for the sale, and every piece also appears in the full Gramicci collection. The fabric, construction and sizing are identical to the full-price version.

Sale stock is whatever remains in each size rather than a replenished line, so a size that has gone will not usually reappear. Pieces do move into the sale over the course of a season as stock runs down, so the range changes, but individual sizes are not restocked.

Often, yes — but Gramicci has carried the same core cuts for decades. The G-Pant, G-Short and NN-Pant have not changed in any meaningful way from one year to the next, so a reduced pair is the current pattern. Collaborations and seasonal prints are the exception: those are made once and not repeated.
