Snow Peak titanium cookware and mugs

Titanium is where the company's metalworking history shows most plainly. It is awkward to press and shape, and Snow Peak makes it in Tsubame-Sanjo with people who have worked the metal for generations — which is why a spork costs what it does. What you get is weight: markedly lighter than stainless steel, corrosion-proof, and flavour-neutral, so coffee does not come out tasting of the cup. The Trek cookset, chopsticks, spork and tableware cover eating; the mugs and tumblers have their own page if that is what you are after. The Field Barista dripper and Coffee Master are for people who take coffee seriously enough to carry equipment for it.

Snow Peak fire pits, benches and camp furniture

The heavier end, and the part that explains why Snow Peak sits where it does on price. The Pack and Carry Fireplace folds flat and stands clear of the ground, which was the original point — the company designed it so a fire could be had without scorching the earth underneath. The Fireplace M starter set adds the grill and accessories. Fire tool sets, the fire ring table, the mesh folding bench, the low beach chair and the stacking shelf container are the rest of a camp setup, all built to fold down and all in metal rather than plastic. None of it is light. All of it is intended to last long enough that weight stops being the point.

Snow Peak caps, bags, wallets and gloves

The smaller things, and the ones most likely to get bought by someone who arrived for the clothing. Light Dobby Cloth caps come in the same fabric as the parkas, the Gore-Tex rain cap handles weather, and the Insect Shield hat is treated to repel biting insects rather than relying on anything applied to skin. The Fire Resistant flight cap is exactly what it sounds like and is meant for sitting near one of the fireplaces above. Recycled Cordura tote and shoulder bags, the Anywhere multi shoulder bag, Everyday Use wallets and Polartec Power Stretch gloves round it out.

Snow Peak Zubehör FAQs

A folding stainless steel fire pit that packs flat into a case. It stands clear of the ground, which is the whole idea — you can have a fire without scorching the grass underneath, which matters on a pitch you have to leave as you found it. It comes in small, medium and large, and the starter sets add a grill bridge and base plate.
Materials and where it is made. Most of it is stainless steel or titanium rather than aluminium or plastic, produced in Tsubame-Sanjo in Niigata, a town whose metalworking trade goes back centuries. It is heavier and dearer than the equivalent from a mass-market brand, and it is bought by people who expect to keep it.
A treatment bonded into the fabric that repels biting insects — midges, mosquitoes, ticks — without anything applied to skin. It survives washing rather than washing out after a cycle or two.
Both Yards Store shops carry the brand: 13 Old Bank Street in Manchester and 86 Pinstone Street in Sheffield. The furniture and fire equipment is worth seeing in person, since folded dimensions and weight are hard to judge from photographs. Ranges differ between the two, so ring ahead for a specific piece.
